Pana Riddim – Major League Studio

Pana Riddim keeps its focus tight: four vocal cuts and the instrumental, all cut in 2018 by Major League Studio. The rhythm sits firmly in soca territory, but it’s got a sharper club edge than a straight Carnival throwaway, with Blaze’s “Mas on the Road” and Spanish’s “Burning Me” pushing the energy early. Mitch and Dalla Coin bring a slicker, more playful turn on “Phenomena, ” while Soca Ray’s “Ghetto” leans into the rougher side of the riddim and gives the project a little grit. Major League Studio also leaves its own stamp with the closing instrumental, which lays out the arrangement cleanly and keeps the whole thing moving at a brisk pace. If there’s one cut that lingers, it’s “Phenomena, ” where the vocal interplay catches the riddim at its most animated.
