tm weekly hits - 30 august 2019

In a new Friday segment, we take a look at the top 5 trending tracks of the past week. The dancehall playlist will feature various artists from the dancehall fraternity who are getting the right attention by producing memorable dope jams.

We kick things off this week at (5) with Daddy 1. The youngster from The 6IX has been topping the charts for the past weeks with his high energy song ‘Custom’. He enters this week’s list with his laid back track Insist.

At number (4) is the other 6IX crew member Chronic Law. The Law Boss continues on his upward trajectory in this gritty track Cyaan Kool- Hot Like Fire. As the title suggests Chronic Law is on a hot streak lately with a string of dope tracks like, ‘Friendship’ and ‘Heartless’. Chronic Law, Daddy 1 and The 6IX Boss, Squash, have been setting the pace lately and this is just another demonstration of what the trio are capable of.

Popcaan comes back onto the scene with Living the Dream at (3). The Unruly Boss has been rather quiet lately in terms of making music. As the year turns to the final stretch we expect more bangers from him, finishing off the year as he started.

The Squash and Alkaline feud rages on in Alkaline’s latest release, ‘State A Emergency’. Alkaline delivers another memorable cut that has captured peoples’ attention. The Vendetta Boss has made a comeback this year and has sparked ‘the debate’ in his latest songs on the issue of supremacy in the game. Artists like Konshens and Popcaan have chimed in on the topic on their social media platforms hitting back at the Vendetta Boss.
