The Jamaica Constabulary Force witch-hunt against the Palmer family continues and they continue to turn up with nothing, following three raids in 2023. With Vybz Kartel topping the charts while in prison, the Constabulary Force is targeting his wife and sons. The latest incident has Tanesha Johnson (wife of Vybz Kartel) reporting the assault of her and her son Ahkeel to the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM).
Last week the police unit raided their residence with a warrant which had an incorrect address looking for a ‘scammer’ who was allegedly operating from the Palmer residence. A video circulating social media shows the incident where there was a squabble between the Palmers over the incident with one of the sons on the brink of being handcuffed. According to the Jamaica Star, there will soon be an investigation into the matter.
That said. What really is the agenda against Kartel’s family? Is it the price of him still being very relevant in Jamaican society and just a campaign to smear the family? Likkle Vybz, also known as Adidja Jaheim Palmer, has turned to music to express his frustrations in his latest track Greatness released via the brother’s Uptown Gaza Records label.
Likkle Vybz sings,
“Police harassment jus a badda mi brain. Three time one year, dem a falla mi trail. Mi a chill in a mi house, dem a stan a mi gate seh mi have gun and drugs weh mi lock a mi place. Wah kinda profile dis a falla mi face.”
The Kartel faithful will no doubt wait for an investigation into the issue but as an independent observer, it does not bode well for the police department. Something concrete against them needs to be present as they are now just embarrassing themselves and acting out of line.
Look out for Greatness though and hear what the youngster has to say about all this.
