With all the reggae/dancehall albums that have come out this year with artists like Buju, Taurus, Vybz and Popcaan all strutting their stuff, the list would not be complete without a certain Miguel Collins. Popularly known as Sizzla Kalonji, the dancehall icon dropped his most recent album Million Times on the 2nd of October 2020. Inspired by the ladies and love, Million Times follows after Victory released in 2019 and is Sizzla’s 56th studio album.
The album debuted at number 14 on the Reggae Charts and will probably make its way up the chart in the coming weeks.
Speaking about the album Sizzla gave insight on his inspiration making mention that it was all about the ladies.
“It was all about love and the ladies. Those two were the inspirations for making this album.”
“This project is different from my previous albums in the sense that it’s a more crossover, hip hop with a little bit of an acoustic flavour. Real soothing and lovely to the extent you don’t wanna play anything else,†he continued.
Whether the album is a contender for a Grammy is another conversation but as long as you’re a reggae fan this one is worth your time.

There has been no other year with so many fresh albums from the Jamaica faithful in 2020. And it will be interesting as to which ones are the stand out ones. One can say its the silver lining in this COVID-19 pandemic because artists have a lot of time on their hands. You can never go wrong with Sizzla so be sure to give it your time.
Listen to crooner Sizzla in his ‘Feelings‘ who may just give Christopher Martin a run for his money.
