Hip-hop artist Ice Spice released her highly anticipated collaboration with Afrobeats artist Rema titled Pretty Girl. Released with the visuals Pretty Girl unfortunately is not a fusion track. I think we all expected a touch of Afrobeats. However, the only African thing about the song was Rema’s ethnicity. The song does pass well for a good hip hop tune and Rema’s unique vocals work well in terms of bringing something different.
Ice Spice made her debut appearance on Saturday Night Live and surprise guest appearances from Taylor Swift and Rema added more buzz to her performance. Ice Spice was able to perform In Ha Hood and Pretty Girl with Taylor Swift and Rema respectively.
