In his acceptance speech. Bounty hailed the event as well as pointing out that it meant a lot more to him than winning a Grammy. To be fair, there is merit in his comment, granted the award is recognition from his homeland.
“It’s not easy to keep these things going. Even in the pandemic, these people make sure they recognize who to be reckon. So Jamaica, let’s support us. Everybody excited bout di Grammy… but I rather; this ain’t no drama!” he rhymed. “Forty years; hold dat!”
“I’m feeling elated and honored thanks to the IRAWMA Awards for this Lifetime Achievement Award and for recognizing my dedication and contribution to this culture Salute.”
Echoing the sentiments of IRAWMA we too at Riddimsworld recognize and salute Bounty for all his endeavours with regard to music and look forward to more. If there were to be a premier league of Dancehall artists, Bounty would definitely feature in the top 10, but that is a discussion for another day.
