Paramount Pictures have released an official trailer for Bob Marley’s Biopic One Love. The highly anticipated film features British actor Kingsley Ben-Adir as Bob Marley and Lashana Lynch as Rita Marley. It is expected to make its theatrical debut on Friday, January 12, 2024.
Directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green who also did King Richard, the film will primarily cover the periods between 1976 and 1978, which will include the infamous attempted assassination of Bob Marley and his wife Rita. The making of his iconic Exodus album, and his eventual return to Jamaica for the historic One Love Peace Concert.
Jamaicans and reggae fans are anticipating the film with much zest and the film is set to be a box-office blockbuster. The world will get a chance to see the world of the global superstar and get to understand what the superstar went through once upon a time.
Ziggy Marley is joined by his sister Cedella Marley and mother, Rita Marley, as co-producers on the film, sharing that distinction with Brad Pitt, Robert Teitel, Jeremy Kleiner and Dede Gardner. The movie was filmed in the UK and in Jamaica, and is reported to have a predominantly Jamaican cast working behind the scenes and on camera.
Produced in partnership with the Marley family, the movie celebrates the life and music of Bob Marley who inspired generations through his message of love and unity. For all the moviegoers out there this is one for the ages. It’s sure to get critical acclaim with several Academy Award nominations.
