Stone Cold keeps My Best Girl moving on a warm, easy-loping reggae groove, and Freddie McGregor’s title cut feels like the heart of it, with George Nooks on “Your Eyes” and Richie Stephens on “Thank You Lord” giving the riddim a clean, rootsy pull. Anthony B’s “Strength To Strength” adds a sharper edge, while Tony Curtis and Singing Melody close in sweet harmony on “Thank You, ” which feels like the sort of pairing this 2001 set was made for.
