In 2018, when dancehall was still leaning hard into short, punchy one-riddim sets, Macaroni Riddim came out with six cuts in just 17 minutes and kept the focus on the groove rather than any big concept. The Rumble Productions and Y-Not Productions flip has that tight, street-ready feel: spare drums, a rolling bassline, and enough space for the vocals to cut through without crowding the rhythm. Mr. Lex opens with “Macaroni, ” Future Fambo turns in the more conscience-minded “Help Di Youths, ” and Alozade’s “Stab Inna Your Eyes” brings a sharper edge, while Hollow Point and Propa Blend keep the energy up. Sens’High J closes things with “Macaroni Riddim, ” a neat sign-off that leaves the instrumental doing its own talking.
