Long Way Riddim – Unknown Label

1975 brings this Lee Scratch Perry-produced Long Way riddim, a deep Black Ark-era cut issued on an unknown label and anchored by Junior Byles’ Long Way with Perry himself turning up on Doctor On The Go. The setup is lean but distinctive: a dub version, Byles’ vocal cut, and Perry’s playful counterpart all riding the same rhythm. It’s a tidy snapshot of Perry’s mid-70s work, where stripped-back arrangements and studio tricks were part of the appeal, and the Doctor On The Go link also ties the riddim to one of his better-known dubs from the period.
