Jairo Riddim has that early-2000s dancehall snap: lean, compact, and aimed straight at the dancers. The cut that really frames it is Firestorm and Jay’s “Sexy Body, ” with Dj Kiss’s “Summer Time” keeping the energy warm and breezy over the same pattern, while Jairo’s version ties the whole thing together with a no-nonsense instrumental pass. Firestorm turns up here as Filip Flatau, and even in this small lineup you can hear the kind of sharp, party-ready writing that made those years so fertile for one-riddim releases.
