Hustle Riddim – Rebel Soulz

Six cuts in, Hustle Riddim keeps its focus on straight-ahead 2011 dancehall, with Rebel Soulz shaping a lean, no-frills set around voice and pulse rather than gimmicks. Andrew and Wada Blood’s “Hustle” and Fire Star’s “Serious” set the tone early, while Ras Frazer’s “World Peace” and Said’s “Losin’ Us” pull the riddim toward more reflective territory without softening the edge. Lee’Tal and Marshell’s “Crazy World” adds another angle, but the whole thing hangs on a clipped, driving groove and a bass line that moves in short, firm steps.
