Green Tree Riddim lines up 11 roots cuts, and the shape of it feels like a proper mid-2014 one-riddim set rather than a loose compilation. Heights Of Heights Production keeps the groove warm and steady, with that classic reggae pocket that leaves plenty of room for the singers to lean into the message; Big Voice’s “Show Some Love, ” Crystyna’s “Never Give Up, ” and Janet Lee Davis’ “Missing You” each push a different shade of uplift and longing across the same frame. Hya P turns up twice, once solo on “Dream Of Me” and again with Nesbeth on “Wanna See, ” which gives the project a little extra texture in the middle.
