Green Rose Riddim – Walshy Fire

Walshy Fire’s Green Rose Riddim sits neatly in the 2019 run of his Walshy Fire Presents catalogue, and it has that modern one-riddim feel with a clean, dubby pulse and enough bass weight to keep the vocals moving without crowding them. The cut featuring Cocoa Tea and Louie Culture gives the project an easy link to older roots-and-culture energy, while Jesse Royal’s “Clear My Head” pulls the riddim into a more reflective, contemporary space. Bunji Garlin and Malica add some extra contrast too, so the EP never locks into one mood for too long. According to the release details, it landed as a four-track set on August 30, 2019, with the instrumental pressure sitting under Walshy Fire, Gacha and the singers right through to “Oh Me Oh My, ” which closes things on a crisp, uncluttered note.
