Grateful Riddim (2019) – Lone Don Entertainment

Vershon’s “Pretend” gives Grateful Riddim an immediate hook, with his smooth, slightly guarded delivery setting the tone before the compilation starts moving through tougher dancehall turns. Lone Don Entertainment keeps the riddim tight and compact across 12 cuts, and the lineup moves neatly between name artists and less familiar voices: Swayne Lonesome’s “Feelings” leans softer, Prohgres digs into the title-theme energy on “Long Belly, ” and G Whizz’s “Progress” adds a veteran touch near the back end. Hyodyne gets plenty of room too, with “Bright Star” and the more explicit “Pussy Buff Inna” pushing the project into a sharper, rowdier pocket. But it’s Vershon who lingers longest here, especially on “Pretend, ” where the mood lands with the cleanest edge.
