Game Riddim – Burning Cush Studio

Game Riddim comes in lean and sharp, with a dark little trap-dancehall pulse that leaves plenty of room for the voice to ride the pocket. Burning Cush Studio kept it stripped to three cuts, and that economy suits the mood: Chap Gad’s “Head A Di Game” has the edge, while Press Boss turns up twice with “Press Play” in raw and clean versions, which says a lot about how the producer wanted the tune heard. There’s a nice line between the beat’s clipped tension and Press Boss’ direct delivery; it feels like the kind of riddim built for the DJ set as much as the rewind. Three tracks, two artists, one quick shot of dancehall attitude, and the clean/raw split at the end.
