Friendship Riddim – Stratosphere

Warm and wary, this 2014 Friendship Riddim from Stratosphere leans into the idea of loyalty and fake friends with a compact six-song dancehall set that keeps the mood conversational rather than flashy. Ricky T’s “What Is Going On” feels like the natural anchor, a sharp, questioning cut that sits well beside Jay Budz’s more straightforward “True Friend, ” while Dutch and Mongstar add their own takes on trust, prayer, and betrayal without breaking the riddim’s easy pull. There’s a nice bit of tension in the title itself and the way the songs play off it, with Blue’s “Some F@%K” pushing the tone a little rougher near the end. A small, sturdy project, and one that sits neatly among Stratosphere’s 2014 run.
