Foresight Riddim – Mari The Producer

In 2021, when reggae and dancehall producers were leaning hard on digital singles and compact riddim packs, Mari The Producer put out Foresight Riddim as a tight nine-track set with eight different voices riding the same cut. It opens and closes with purpose, moving from Tatik’s “Win” through Apex 4m, Maticulus Auburn, Kali Grn and Kananto Sativa before Franchizze doubles up with “Nobody To Give” and “No One Like You, ” then Kaama Di Konga’s “Own” with Alpha Waze wraps it up. That sequencing gives the project a nice rise-and-set feel, with “Manifest” and “Jah Protect” sitting right in the middle as the most reflective turns. Rather than pile on features, Mari keeps the focus on a small circle of singers and deejays, letting the riddim do the heavy lifting across the whole run.
