Fever Grass Riddim (2013) – Vikings Production

Fever Grass has a lean, grimy dancehall pulse, the kind that leaves space for the voices to cut through. Vikings Production keeps the arrangement tight in 2013, and Melloquence’s “Start To Rise” feels like the sharpest nod to uplift on a set otherwise aimed at the dance. Villa Dutch goes straight for the bad-gal side with “Internet Hot Gyal, ” while Mikeylous doubles up with raw and radio versions of “Fucka Dem, ” a neat little contrast that tells you exactly how the riddim was meant to travel. It’s only four cuts, but that economy gives the whole thing a harder edge, with the version detail tucked in almost like an afterthought.
