Everlivin Riddim – Love Promotions

Love Promotions took a quieter route here, and that’s part of the appeal: instead of loading up the set with a big roster, Everlivin Riddim keeps things trim with just three cuts, centered on the instrumental, Jimmy Riley’s “Everlivin Life, ” and Sizzla’s “Are You Listening. ” The 2003 date puts it in that early-2000s reggae period when labels were still leaning on clean, focused one-riddim packages rather than sprawling compilations, and this one feels very much in that mould. Jimmy Riley brings the tenderness, while Sizzla adds the sharper edge, so the riddim gets two very different readings without losing its shape. The track order is telling too: version first, then the two vocal takes, which gives the producer’s intent away straight off.
