Easy Snapping Riddim – Worldisc x New Beat x Studio One

Easy Snapping Riddim brings together a classic line of versions from the late 1950s through the early 1990s, anchored by Theophilus Beckford’s original Easy Snapping from 1959 on Coxsone Dodd’s Worldisc. The rhythm later turned up again on Delroy Wilson’s 1969 Studio One cut, Beckford’s Easy Snapping (Feel The Rocking) from 1968, and a 1992 Steely and Clevie remake, giving the set a clear bridge from early ska-era roots to later revival. Dodd issued Easy Snapping as one of the first Worldisc releases, and the tune has long been treated as a key early stepping stone in Jamaican recorded music. With only a handful of versions, the release keeps its identity tied to Beckford’s piano-led original and the way different producers reworked the same lick across decades.
