Down Santic Way digs into Leonard Chin’s Santic catalogue, and the pull here is the mix of roots cuts and dub versions sitting beside names like Augustus Pablo, Freddie McKay, Big Joe and Jah Lloyd, with Pablo’s “Hap Ki Do” and “Peace And Love Dub” anchoring the set in that dark, meditative mode. Pressure Sounds framed it as a 2005 compilation from Santic Jamaican Productions, covering material cut between 1973 and 1975, so the sound has that warm, moody early-’70s Kingston feel rather than anything polished or modern. Jah Mojo’s “Yankee Kankee” and the King Tubby’s “Shooter Dub” keep the tension high, while the Leonard Santic All Stars sides push the instrumentals deeper into the same groove. It runs 16 tracks in all, with nine different artists spread across the package.
