Delivery Riddim comes off leaner and more devotional than a lot of the harder-edged dancehall work flying around 2008, with the songs leaning into upright spiritual talk and a warm, rolling reggae pulse rather than big noisy confrontation. The cut list keeps the focus tight: Sinful’s “Messenger, ” Jah Is Spritual’s “Jah Jah Sleeping, ” Jah Markie’s “As I Rise, ” and Ras Pilot’s “Wanna Be Loved” all ride the same framework with clear, straightforward delivery, and the whole thing has that earthy one-riddim feel where each voice has to earn its place. Ras Pilot’s “Wanna Be Loved” feels like the final word here, closing the set on a more reflective note and leaving the riddim with a softer afterglow than its title might suggest.
