Bright and rugged, Dancehall Showcase Vol. 3 – Mango catches that late-’80s moment when dancehall was leaning harder into patter, hooks, and stripped-back rhythm work. Echo Minott’s “No Jolly Bus” is the pull track here, but Chakka Demus on “Wine Your Body” and Junior Wilson’s run of cuts give the set its shape, with “Rock And Come In” and “Get It Already” keeping the energy up. The presence of Tony Asher’s dub versions at the end hints at the showcase format’s club utility, where a vocal side and a dub side could travel together cleanly. Coming after the earlier Mango showcase discs, this one sits nicely in that small run of compact, dancer-friendly releases that document the label’s sharper, post-sound-system dancehall phase.
