Dancehall Log On Riddim – Technique

Technique keeps this one down to a bare-bones two-track set, and that already gives it a different feel from the bigger, more crowded dancehall packages the name usually suggests. Both cuts come from Lovindeer, with “Dancehall Log On” and “Market Place” sitting on the same side of the same idea, which makes the release read more like an archive piece than a showcase compilation. The riddim has that late-90s digital sting: clipped drums, a lean synth figure, and a rubbery low end that leaves plenty of space around the voice. Lovindeer leans into a chatty, street-level delivery rather than any big melodic hook, so the lyrics do most of the work over the propulsive pull. It moves at a brisk mid-tempo pace, with the bass line doing the heavy lifting underneath the skittering percussion.
