This one leans closer to a Trinidad-rooted dancehall curiosity than a straight Jamaican studio set, with only four cuts and a very local flavour running through the titles. The rhythm is spare and catchy rather than aggressive, leaving room for B Vibes’ “Long Time” and Brindley B’s “Old Time Xmas” to sit on top of the pocket without crowding each other, while Scrunter’s “Blue Food And Bush Meat” gives the project its most unmistakably Caribbean turn. With no big-name producer tag to hide behind, the draw is the tune itself: a plain instrumental cut that lets the banjo-led hook do the talking and ties the whole thing together in a short, tidy way.
