Meggawattz keeps its name in the soca conversation with Counterstrike Riddim, a 2026 release that follows the same crew-friendly, carnival-season logic that powered the producer’s earlier 809 Riddim. The new set is voiced by King Bubba FM, Syx10, Keith Currency, Royall and Icee, and it’s the kind of project that lives or dies on how well the bassline locks in and how quickly the chants catch on.

The sound here is built for road use: hard-edged percussion, a forward-driving pulse and a hooky arrangement that leaves room for crowd response and call-and-answer phrasing. King Bubba FM’s “One More Time (All Ah We)” sits right in his wheelhouse, with the Barbadian producer-turned-artist using that big-party, everybody-in-the-fete energy he has made a calling card. Syx10 and Keith Currency’s “Bounce” pushes the tempo and keeps the mood sweaty and direct, while Royall’s “No Chattings” brings a more dismissive, bad-minded-off message that suits the title’s militant framing. Icee’s “Saltfish” adds a lighter, more playful local flavor, which is often where a soca riddim gets its replay value: one tune for the hardest wine, another for the line that sticks in people’s heads after the truck passes.

This is not a sprawling cast, and that helps. Meggawattz is working in a lane it knows well, giving each vocalist enough space to carve out a distinct angle without breaking the rhythm’s identity. Counterstrike Riddim feels like a practical release rather than a vanity package, designed for radio, DJ juggling and early carnival rotation. The best cuts are the ones that sound immediately usable on a road mix, and on that score King Bubba FM and Royall do the heaviest lifting.
