Connection Riddim (2006) – Dejavu Records

Connection Riddim came out of Dejavu Records in the mid-2000s dancehall wave, with a polished, radio-friendly swing that still leaves room for pure yard energy. Sean Paul linking with Nina Sky on “Connection” gives it instant crossover pull, while Buju Banton’s “Have It Fe Dem” and Voicemail’s “Girl” keep the project grounded in the streetwise side of the era; even Lumidee’s “Ride With You” and its Craig T remix point to how far the riddim was reaching beyond Jamaica at the time. Produced by Marlon Cooke under the Dejavu banner, the set lines up 10 tracks in all, closing with the version cut and framing the whole thing as a tidy 2006 dancehall package with a sharp, glossy finish.
