Bloom Field Riddim – Cultural Productions

Bloom Field Riddim opens with a clean, midtempo reggae pulse and a tight French-Jamaican production setup that gives it a slightly polished, international feel. Cultural Production put it out in January 2012, with Mickaël Couchot handling the composition side and the sessions cut across Belfort, Kingston, Toronto, and Philadelphia, which helps explain why the riddim moves so comfortably between rootsy chants and more direct lovers-rock turns. Simon Splinta’s “Cultural Me Say” with Tosh sets the tone early, while Touch A Gold’s “Judgement Time” and Pampi Judah’s “World Leaders” keep the conscious edge up. The cut that lingers longest is Chaddy Royal’s “Sweet Reggae Music, ” a straightforward closer that leaves the riddim on a warm, steady note.
