Beeno Riddim – Fiwi Music

Fiwi Music keeps the Beeno Riddim tight and lean, with just two cuts carrying the whole thing in 2004. Al-Beeno opens the set with “What’s My Name, ” a straight dancehall swing that lets his name-calling confidence do the heavy lifting, while Yogie teams with Kris Kelli on “I Saw You” for a smoother, more flirtatious counterpoint. The contrast works in its favour: one tune comes on rough and direct, the other eases into a more melodic groove without losing the street edge. For a small Fiwi Music production, the pairing feels deliberate, like a quick snapshot of the label’s early-2000s dancehall ear.
