Righteous Records Entertainment’s Barkup Riddim landed in 2023 as a five-track dancehall set, with Shado Vijon’s Jump, Corey The Prophet’s No Simmie Dimmie, Joseph Jb Brown’s Armor Of God, Connie T’s Nah Flee, and Ovacomma’s Rise Up giving the project its shape. The EP runs just over a dozen minutes and keeps a tight, contemporary pace, which makes the vocal variety easy to catch without losing the riddim’s bounce. Righteous Records had already built up a small catalogue before this release, and Barkup fits that producer-led tradition with a compact artist line-up and a clean, straight-to-the-point dancehall feel.
