Alton’s Official Daughter Riddim brings together Herman Chin-Loy’s 1972 Aquarius production with the Fashion-side versions that later kept the cut alive, including Al Campbell’s Try My Love and Debbie Gordon’s Jah Jah You’re My Guiding Star. The short three-track set also centres the original Alton Ellis and Herman Chin-Loy title tune, which gives the riddim its name and its moody, early-70s foundation. Chin-Loy’s Aquarius work was an important part of that era’s reggae sound, and this one captures that stripped, melodic feel with a small but memorable lineup.

    Alton’s Official Daughter Tracklist:

    1. Al Campbell – Try My Love (1996)
    2. Alton Ellis & Herman Chin-Loy – Alton’s Official Daughter (1972)
    3. Debbie Gordon – Jah Jah You’re My Guiding Star (1997)
