Alliance Riddim – Frass Family Entertainment

Frass Family Entertainment’s Alliance Riddim sits right in that busy 2010 dancehall stretch where small, sharp one-riddim projects were still doing a lot with a little. It only runs three cuts, but the line-up has enough personality to keep it moving: Flexx’s “Mek Duppy” comes in with a rough, direct attack, Kibaki turns in the self-titled “Kibaki, ” and Mad Cobra’s “Black Rain Fall” brings the veteran weight, sounding like the kind of tune built to travel well in a dance. The production credit stays firmly with Frass Family Entertainment, and that lean setup gives the riddim a no-nonsense feel rather than crowding it with extras.
