With just five cuts, 38 Special Riddim keeps the focus tight and leans straight into a dark, springy dancehall-reggae groove, the kind of small-circle juggling where the voices have to do the heavy lifting. Kalash’s “Gun Man” ended up as the headline tune and helped push the project’s profile, while Chinee Queen’s “Kill Them All” and Karleen Norde’s “Fout Sa Lèd” add sharper local colour and a tougher edge around the edges. Rocco Productions kept the package concise in 2018, and the full set runs through Pété Bal’s “Crocadile” and Someone Miseh’s “Pull Up, ” with no filler beyond the five-track sequence.
