Unruly Boss, Popcaan just dropped his latest track ‘Billions‘, which features dancehall newbie Quada.
Quada caught Popcaan‘s attention at the Unruly Clash in 2016. The 22 year did not win, but his lyrical prowess shined enough to get picked up. He later featured in a couple of Popcaan’s tracks namely Unruly Camp and Unruly State. The fiery deejay hit hard with a signature baritone which makes him unique. After working with the youngster Popcaan went on to lavish him with praise, quoted as saying,
“Quada is a great talent, and with the right artiste development, I have no doubt he will be a force to be reckoned with in dancehall music both locally and internationally.”
Quada, born Shacquelle Clarke released his debut single ‘Reflex’ in February 2018 and now features alongside Popcaan in this slow burn jam.
Every year Popcaan is known to release a club banger which stands out from the rest. Moreso, I feel 2019 is yet to be blessed. Unfortunately Poppy is a victim of his own success and because of the standard he has set we expect more from the Unruly Boss. Taking nothing away from ‘New Found Love’ ‘Ova Dweet’ and ‘Goals’, I feel Poppy has another gear to go this year. 2018 had powerhouse jams like ‘Body So Good’ and ‘Silence’ and if you compare with 2019 he is way off.
Vybz Kartel continues to dominate, having recently released another banger in Drone Dem. This alone should act as a motivator for Popcaan. His other contemporaries are also on song with Mavado and Alkaline having just dropped ‘Flammable’ and ‘State a Emergency’ respectively.
Brace yourself for the final quarter of the year. There is room for another Clean or Silence .There is more to come from the Unruly Boss. As for Quada, stay on the lookout as he is a hot prospect for the future.
