Julian Marley and Antaeus secured the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album with their work “Colors of Royal” at the 66th GRAMMY Awards. While Julian Marley was performing at the Jammin Reggae Festival in Australia, Alexx Antaeus accepted the Grammy statuette on their behalf.
During the award acceptance, Antaeus dedicated the honor to the people of Jamaica, expressing gratitude for their acceptance and embodying the island’s motto: OUT OF MANY ONE. Antaeus highlighted the influential role of Reggae and Dancehall in shaping Afrobeats, Reggaeton, and Pop, pledging to continue promoting Jamaican artists globally.
The album “Colors of Royal” marks a departure from Julian Marley’s previous roots-reggae style, showcasing his versatility as an artist. It is a testament to the synergy between Marley and Antaeus, who blended their distinctive styles to create an extraordinary musical experience. The album’s diverse sounds prompt listeners to reflect on the current state of the world while enjoying the richness of life.
Featuring eight tracks, “Colors of Royal” enlisted production talent from Alexx Antaeus, Notnice, Mr. Sonic, Sean Alaric, and Prince Productions. The Grammy award-winning engineer Alex Psaroudakis handled the album’s mastering.

Roots-reggae musician Julian Marley, son of the legendary Bob Marley, collaborated with British-born Antaeus, known for his global success with albums like “Byzantine Meditation,” “World Prayer,” “Zero4,” and “Chromasounds,” characterized by a chill-out soundscape blending voices, traditional instruments, and electronica. Antaeus’s music, licensed for TV commercials and featured in compilations such as Buddha Bar, has garnered acclaim for its unique fusion.
