Idris Elba and Naomi Cowan Drop Summer Banger

Idris Elba And Naomi Cowan Drop Summer Banger

“This is the posse cut I never knew I needed!” DJ Toddla T

Jamaican reggae songwriter and artist Naomi Cowan features in a collaboration with British actor, and disk jockey Idris Elba, Dj Toddla T, and General Levy on what is being dubbed as ‘the’ summer banger. We Run The Area, is a feel-good party jam that was jointly produced and released by Idris and Dj Toddla T’s respective record labels, Bell Brothers and 7Wallace.

The track is heavily influenced by Jungle, drum, and bass sounds, and has an official music video set in both Jamaica and England. The track garnered a modest 9k views on Youtube’s streaming platform in just a day, but that figure is set to rise significantly in the next couple of days.

You have to hand it to Idris Elba who can’t seem to put a foot wrong. Be it his acting performances or disk-jockeying, Stringer Bell is the ultimate entertainment guru and his skills come to the fore in We Run The Area.

Naomi Cowan, who shined on Rock and Groove Riddim with Peace of Mind alongside Lila Ike, Jaz Elise, and Sevana is the daughter of gospel singer Carlene Davis and impresario Tommy Cowan. She launched her career in 2015 and is also known for songs such as Paradise Plum and Kingston Traffic.

Last but not least, big-up DJ Toddla T. Regarded as one of the most pivotal music industry tastemakers in the UK. And dubbed a linchpin of industry collaboration, the producer has released tracks with a host of names which include the likes of Skepta, Avelino, CASISDEAD, Stefflon Don, Roots Manuva, Skream, Andrea Martin, and Craig David.
