Whatever Shenseea can do Jada Kingdom can do too. Kingston native Jada Kingdom is having her turn in the limelight following the release of her latest collaboration with The 9ine. The track titled Turn Me On, finally came out accompanied by a music video that has already garnered 600k views in 2 days on Youtube’s streaming platform.
Produced by Rvssian via Head Concussion Records, the track is The 9ine’s (also known as Ninecea) biggest collaboration having only burst onto the music scene last year. Fresh out of Jamaica College, The 9ine explained to the Jamaican Observer how the collaboration with Jada came to be, saying;
“The collaboration came about when I previewed a song called Slow Whine on TikTok and I asked persons to tell me which artiste I should collaborate with on the track. Everyone tagged Jada in the post. A friend of mine has a friend who is close to Jada, and she told me how much she loved the song. We then communicated on Instagram and that’s where the dialogue began, with the interest of wanting to work together. Luckily, we were both in Miami at the time, so we met up at the studio and made a masterpiece of a song.”
Jada Kingdom is currently on a serious tip when it comes to music as she has been relatively busy in 2023. Her current project is a track with Dexta Daps which will be the artist’s first-ever collaboration. Following a feature on the Slow Whine video the pair were seen together making what is supposed to be the music video for their latest collaboration.
Competition breeds innovation and quality thus we get to enjoy top cuts from Jada and her longtime friend/enemy Shenseea. Dancehall gets to enjoy music from the two artists and we can always get to debate who is the better artist.
Be sure to look out for Ninecea/ The 9ine and track how the high school graduate navigates the dancehall space in the coming years.
