Feel good music is always necessary especially in light of the current pandemic ravaging the planet. Collie Buddz is not known for constantly releasing fresh music. However, his production Cali Roots Riddim is taking shape as more artists release their cuts on the riddim.
Last Friday Anthony B dropped the ultimate Friday jam you need to listen to after a long week of work. As the title suggests, Chill Out, will put you in the right mood and carry you through the weekend. Anthony B sings,
“I just wanna dance and listen to sum rub a dub, rub a dub
Chill out, and make love to the music I love, reggae music
I just wanna dance and listen to sum rub a dub, rub a dub,
Chill out, and make love to the woman I love to reggae music”
The track follows the release of Collie Buddz and The Movement versions Hold Firm and Aliens respectively dropped over the past Fridays.Â
Based on the aforementioned tracks, the riddim is proving to be classic and there is a whole lot more to come.
Today the latest track Change, from Pepper was released. The San Diego based rock group gave their authentic Californian take on the riddim. The riddim is called Cali Roots so it only makes sense to appreciate the sounds emanating from California. The rock band is comprised of Kaleo Wassman, Bret Bollinger and Yesod Williams who originally hail from Hawaii. The trio pull off the reggae vibe well and challenge the upcoming artists to follow.
The riddim is set to have 21 different songs including artists like Common Kings, Gentleman, Jesse Royal and SOJA.
They are not Collie Buddz songs but they will suffice because they have that familiar Collie Buddz sound. Be sure to look out next week for the next installation.
