Did you know Steven Seagal was once a dancehall artist? We all have to admit there was always a “badmun aura” about Steven Seagal, judging by the movie roles he played back in the 90s and early 2000s. In addition to being an actor, screenwriter, martial artist and now a Special Representative for Russia-US Cultural Links. Seagal is also a guitarist and has dabbled as a singer in the dancehall space. In addition to that, he has released two studio albums namely Songs from the Crystal Cave and Mojo Priest, and performed on scores of several films. He has worked with the likes of Lady Saw, Stevie Wonder and Tony Rebel, who feature on his albums.
Back[/embed] in 1993, Seagal worked with dancehall’s Lady Saw (who is the first female deejay to be certified as a triple-platinum and Grammy Award-winning artist) on a single titled Strut. Upon listening to Seagal’s verses you can definitely vouch for him being a dancehall artist who knows what he is doing.
This explains a lot about why Steven Seagal is revered by many. He is a gifted individual with many talents and that’s why no-one can touch him. I get why his hair doesn’t get ruffled in all his movie fights. He is the epitome of cool. Well, second to Chuck Norris.
For all the dancehall lovers out there, give Mr Seagal a chance and maybe he can make a come back. Maybe a collaboration with Sean Paul or Shenseea? Either way big up yourself Steven Seagal, we appreciate your body of work in all disciplines.
