There are a a few tracks which you can fall in love with from the very first listen. With an intro similar to Lumidee’s, Never Leave You (Uh Oh). You will definitely fall in love with Stay Flee Get Lizzy track, ‘2 Cups’ featuring Popcaan and Tory Lanez and Fredo.
The track’s music video premiered on Youtube’s streaming platform on the 26th of September and has already massed 1,2 million views after 2 weeks.
Talk about a United Nations delegation, ‘2 Cups’ features a Jamaican, Canadian and 2 Brits. With a strong dancehall core, the mix of artists make for a dope party jam with a catchy beat to flow to. Popcaan sets the tone at the beginning with an intro that is almost Vybz Kartel-esque before switching back to his normal flow. The interchanging with Tory Lanez keeps the pace of the track up and Fredo’s rap gels well.
The[/embed] beat was sampled off Diwali Riddim from 2002 and shows just how deep the rhythm was 17 years on. Many fans have been commenting why the track is only being released now, seeing as summer is over. The song has a true summer vibe and it is backed up by its vibrant music video. The video has all the summer ingredients, including beautiful women in bikinis, motorbikes, beach bonfires, picturesque beach shots, and fire dancing. Summertime is over in the northern hemisphere, but what about the south? The music business is global and this is a real treat for the south. The party must definitely continue right?
This is yet another entry for Popcaan on the British Charts. 2 Cups entered the charts at number 55 last Friday and is steadily rising. The Popcaan brand continues to grow and you can’t help but get excited for the kid from St Thomas, Jamaica. I think it’s time for you to try and dominate Asia now. Without getting too carried away. Kudos to Tory Lanez, Fredo and song producer Stay Flee Get Lizzy this is a banger of a track.
