In another episode of Love and Hip Hop Atlanta. Jamaican Queen of Dancehall, Spice, made an announcement to her family that she would have to undergo another hernia operation. On the show. Spice is seen talking to her mother and her two children (Nicholas and Nicholatoy) at a restaurant. When I heard about this news a few weeks back. I felt really bad for Spice granted what she had gone through about a year ago when she had complications with a similar procedure. But, when she now publicized it and is now revealing it as a form of reality tv the emotions have kind of faded.

And[/embed] to be fair, I don’t think I am the only one. Sincerity is a hard thing to fake and when you see the scene in Love and Hip Hop with Spice and her family you realize how it is all scripted. As her daughter just carries on eating pizza and her son just stares at her you cannot help but feel sorry for everyone involved. Why would you take such a private family moment and make it daytime television? Unless you know it’s all going to work out just fine. Makes you doubt the whole thing right?

Not sure everyone would share my sentiments but some family moments need to be respected and be kept private. From this Love and Hip Hop scene, you get the feeling it is all about tv, views, and ratings. And I have genuinely lost the sentimental feeling I had about the surgery.
Either way, the reality is Spice needs to go forward with this hernia surgery. I am certain we all wish the best for her and her family. However, reality tv is booming because of it and benefiting at her expense. Or is it at her expense?
