2019 is going to be a year young dancehall artist Koffee will remember for the rest of her life. From the success of her debut album Rapture. To getting included on President Barack Obama’s summer playlist. Having the Chinese military play her song for the Jamaican trade delegation must have raised her eyebrows signifying the level she had reached. Koffee has kicked on and released a single to end the year on the right note.

W‘ her latest jam features rapper Gunna. Koffee eluded to the fact that the track was recorded in Los Angeles. She went on to tell the British bi-monthly magazine that,

“I usually pre-write songs. I get a beat, I go home, I listen to it, I write something. But this came together in the studio. I listened to the beat, and the lyrics just came to me on the spot. We had this empty verse and thought, ‘Let’s get Gunna.’ He did it, and I was blown away.”

Fittingly the music video has the artist part of a storm on the Carribean island raining bucket loads of cash. Not that Koffee is fully loaded with cash now, but the step up in riches must be very significant in her life compared to this time last year. The track has her spitting fire verses and Gunna complementing her very well.

Koffee[/embed] can’t seem to put a foot wrong this year and I congratulate her on all she has accomplished. There is talk of a collaboration with pop star Rihanna which would light up the Windies as the Spanish Town and Barbadian natives mix. The pair have both eluded to being fans of each other so expect a banger of a jam. It will probably feature on the upcoming reggae album from Rihanna set for December.

We look forward to more hits from Koffee. If 2020 is anything like 2019, who knows, maybe Koffee could be the voice of the Caribbean in years to come. Dare I say the Spanish Town native could be bigger than Bob Marley.
