Skip Marley And H.e.r. Slow Down

skip marley and h.e.r. slow down

Bob Marley’s grandson Skip Marley teamed up with 2-time Grammy award winner H.E.R. in his latest soft reggae jam titled ‘Slow Down’. H.E.R. gave a good account of herself passing off as a capable reggae artist at her first crack at the genre. The track precludes Skip’s much anticipated studio album to be released soon. The track was produced via Tuff Gong Intl./Island Records.

The chemistry between the pair resonates all through the song making it one of Skip’s top songs this calendar year. Other notable tracks this year from Skip include a collaboration with uncle Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley in ‘That’s Not True‘. He has also worked with Major Lazer in ‘Can’t Take It From Me’. And most notably with French Montana in ‘Call Me Human‘ which is a Godfather of Harlem soundtrack. ‘Enemy‘ earned Skip critical acclaim from Rolling Stone, Fader, Hypebeast, Vibe, and many other top magazines as well.

With rich reggae blood running through his veins. Skip offers the genre his unique reggae hybrid which resonates well with reggae lovers. He is not very concerned with how people perceive his music only that he wants to give his take on things and his love for music shines through.

“I want to spread my music to the people and help them unify,” he says. “I want people to take away a message of love, of looking at the way you are living and thinking where we can work to be or better and feel better. Whatever they’re feeling, I want them to be able to turn up my music and think, relax, and get good vibes.”

This utopian way of looking at things may sound far fetched but it is worth a try right?

H.E.R. continues to grow and has established herself as one of RnBs most fascinating new talents. This track is sure to boost both artists resumes. Riddimsworld looks forward to Skip’s new album and more from Gabriella Wilson affectionately known as H.E.R. (Having Everything Revealed).
