jah cure calls for respect from young generation

Jah Cure, born Siccature Alcock is a Jamaican reggae musician, raised in Kingston. He was given the name Jah Cure by Capleton whom he met in his youth. Jah Cure is also known as the King of Lovers Rock and Roots Reggae.

His first big break came in March 1997 when he released the single “King in this Jungle” which was a duet with Sizzla. The single was produced by Beres Hammond who went onto become his mentor. He then released a steady stream of singles that won him critical and popular acclaim.

Grammy nominated Jah Cure now has come out with some sentiments for up and coming artists in the industry which he feels he is entitled to say along with a certain level of respect.

Speaking on Instagram Live, Jah Cure said he is back in studio finishing up his latest album and is aiming for the Grammy award this time.

“I ease up my foot a little bit and some guys some little mice getting little bright,” Jah Cure said on IG live. “I heard them throwing some words in the songs and talking some ways.”

Jah Cure pointed out that he was not angry, however, said he knew a lot of new Reggae acts were not producing authentic music. “Dem never struggle, some man a sing bout Reggae and a love up Reggae but dem never struggle for Reggae,” he added. “Some a unu get jump start and unu bridge the gap and skip the line.”

The “Unconditional Love” singer did not mention names, he insinuated that the culprits were aware of themselves, “And unu know who mi a talk bwoy, some a unu bright and a talk some way inna music like unu reach general status but i gonna teach unu something,” he continued.

He then reiterated that he was focused more than ever to take Reggae music to the next level. The crooner is currently promoting his new track with Damian ‘Jr. Gong’ Marley titled “Marijuana.”
