Island Life delivered the conscious reggae riddim of the year so far in Motivation Riddim. The riddim is made up of an assortment of instruments with an old-school reggae feel from the 90s. The rhythm is made for certain artists who shine on the riddim including Lutan Fyah, Pressure Buspipe and Ras Brando.
Rastafarians will always feel that there is a need for conscious music and the riddim gives them a platform to point out social injustices. The artists take turns to offer their solutions making up a wholesome riddim with strong socialist and Rastafarian messages. Gappy Ranks sings for leadership in Heroes while Jahovi sings about the Under Cover Murderer that exists in society.

Due to the fact that music is very subjective I would like to make mention of other similar riddims that compare to the riddim. In February Galaxy Soundstation produced and released Grudgefull Riddim. It has an even bigger cast with the likes of Kiva, Derrick Lara, Ginjah, Jahmali and Mykal Rose featuring.
Reggae Lover Riddim from Danger Zone Group is the other top pick so far. With a similar cast it also features other artists including, Jah Vinci, Bling Dawg, Romain Virgo, Jah Fabio and Nadine Sutherland.
The sub-genre is well catered for this year with these powerful dubs on the riddims. Due to the outbreak of coronavirus I am sure there will be more music released. The eminent ban on concerts will impact the performing artists closing that avenue for income. They may be forced to spend more time in the studio as travelling will be at a minimum.
