Another Dancehall Artist Involved In A Fatal Car Accident

another dancehall artist involved in a fatal car accident

Up and coming artist Fresh King, best known for tracks like ‘Melody’ (Invictus) and ‘Murdera’ was involved in a horrific car accident over the weekend. He is in a critical condition in hospital, unfortunately his girlfriend, Junique Chung, did not make it and passed away.

The[/embed] pair were heading home early Sunday morning after leaving an event. He apparently lost control of his sedan which then collided into a wall along the New Green Main Road in Manchester. The vehicle split into two upon impact instantly killing Junique and had Fresh King transported to a hospital.

A very unfortunate accident which leaves you asking the question how did this happen and what were the circumstances.

In the last 6 months 5 mainstream dancehall and reggae artists have been involved in car accidents. Shenseea was involved in one in November 2018 when a drunken driver hit her head on. Aidonia totaled his Mercedes Benz last month in April. Munga was involved in a 3 car pile up in January 2019 and Blak Ryno recently was involved in a crash in uncertain conditions last month. Fresh King is now the latest. And something tells me there are more to come this year.

You cannot help but realize that there is a general trend. Is it a case of poor roads? Maybe its for delving into the road accident statistics and see if there is a general high rate of accidents which needs to be addressed. Lack of or lenient law enforcement on the roads could also be a factor by allowing persons who should not be behind the wheel to drive. Living in the fast lane leading to general recklessness could also be argued or maybe this is just a meagre coincidence.

Authorities and the artists themselves need to do something if it calls for it. There is already a high crime rate in Jamaica and this adds onto its woes.
