Alkaline Shows The 6ix Nuh Mercy

Just when we thought the Vendetta-6IX war was over, Alkaline dropped yet another scathing diss track directed at the 6IX.

What started as a one on one between 6IX boss Squash and Alkaline has now embroiled a host of top deejays. As the war has been raging on for the past four weeks the odds were stacked up against Alkaline. The Vendetta Boss had to deal with attacks from Squash and Chronic Law and random jabs from Bounty Killer and Popcaan. Jahmiel then came to Alkaline’s defense and delivered a telling blow to both Chronic Law and Squash in ‘Murderous’.

In the wake of the ‘Murderous’ track, many people thought it signified the end of the conflict. And a few days later Squash’s manager Heavy D threw in the white towel. He came out in an interview stating that his client would no longer be doing diss tracks and that the conflict was over.

This act of backing down was not taken lightly by Alkaline. The deejay proceeded to release his latest diss track, ‘Nuh Mercy’. The relentless Alkaline went after all his critics and had a dig at not only Squash and Chronic Law, but also Heavy D, Vybz Kartel, Shabdon and Squash’s mother. Alkaline showcased his lyrical prowess and you wonder if he still has more ammunition. This act may just prolong the war as Squash may be forced to say something to save face.

This is a real test for the 6IX boss as his reaction is crucial. Sure, his ego has taken a bruising but there is the other gentlemanly reaction which would have him being the bigger man.

On the other hand there are other players who can continue the fight. Alkaline made things very personal as he also went in on Squash’s mother. For that reason Squash may have to back down for her sake and allow Chronic Law to take centre stage.

Alkaline - Nuh Mercy

Either[/embed] way the end is nigh. This has been media gold in the dancehall community and you get the sense it’s all coming to an end. Alkaline you have won this one. Just let it go now before things degenerate to toxic levels.
