Kemar Highcon is back on the scene with the remix to his 2018 hit song So Saucy. It features Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta star Spice and reggae legend Shaggy. The high energy track with a colourful animated lyrics video was produced by Track Starr Music Group. It follows the original track which was released in October 2018.
Its interesting to know that Shaggy couldn’t get to feature on Rihanna’s highly anticipated reggae album but managed a feature with Kemar. With all due respect to Kemar. Its hard to believe that both camps from Shaggy and Rihanna couldn’t make something happen as their collaboration could have been huge sums of money in the bank. After collaborating with artists like Sting, Maxi Priest and Adriana there was no room to work with the Bajan star?
However this combination of Mr Bombastic and the Queen of Dancehall alongside Kemar does work. Kemar seems to be upgrading as time goes by. Born in Kingston Jamaica, 30 year old Kemar has had a handful of successful tracks which include So Saucy, Talk Bout, Side Nigga and Skin to Skin.
“Give thanks #30 on ITunes chart let’s get at #1 today tell everyone you know to go purchase this song,” he said.
Kemar reached out to his fans shortly after the track’s release urging them to help grow the track and also indicated how appreciative he was for Spice and Shaggy’s support.
To be honest Kemar Highcon was not on my radar for the year. However, this is a pleasing sign which signals his intentions for the future. With the right grooming and support who knows the levels he can reach. Kudos to Spice and Shaggy for their support. Dancehall needs all the internal support it can get from the mainstream stalwarts. Time will tell if an official video will be produced. It wold not be such a bad idea though.
