Dancehall’s eye candy songstress Jada Kingdom’s last releases have put her as the in-form female artist in the business presently. The artist known by her friends as Muma Heavy has just released 2 contrasting songs in the past week. Her singles include Warning. An in your face cut where she talks against fake people who get by at her expense, and Yuh Betta. The latter is an erotic song where she does not hold back on her sexual desires and preferences.
Jada Kingdom born Jada Ashanti Murphy came out earlier in the year promising to release her debut album. She has managed to garner a strong following and has been backed by some of the top artists including Vybz Kartel and Nigeria’s Davido. Another aspect that has raised her profile is the ongoing beef with Shenseea. The two have had public spats which are well documented which make things in the industry interesting.
Behind the tough exterior that she portrays and all the mischievous sexual innuendos there is another sweeter caring side. Jada recently spoke up about the downside to self-isolation. Having once admitted to struggling with bipolar disorder and depression Jada had this to say,
“What everyone is going through right now is surreal and is a test on everyone’s mental health, not just those already dealing with those issues.â€
“While it is vital to keep up to date with what is going on around the world and also keep abreast of the latest advice or tips, I believe the constant stream of negative news on TV doesn’t help,†she said. “Everyone is under immense stress and pressure. People are dying, some have lost jobs not knowing how they will pay their bills or keep a roof over their heads and the worst part is the uncertainty, which brings major anxiety.â€
A very insightful perspective. Let’s see if she can find a way to express it in her music.
Its clearly her time to shine and she is saying all the right things. We look forward to her album which is sure to be fire. Keep the tracks coming Jada.
